How can MyCIL help me?
If you live in northeastern PA, have a disability and want to live your best life, we may be able to help. As a MyCIL client, you get connected to the independent living services you need. Together with your dedicated Independent Living Specialist, you will determine the best services to meet your unique needs, goals and challenges.
Whether you need to make your home easier to maneuver your wheelchair in, need a hearing aid or other assistive technology, or you want to develop job skills, we can help. These are just a few of the ways we help people with disabilities live independent, productive lives.

How can MyCIL help my child?
Through our Transitional Skills Center, we help young adults ages 14-21 gain the skills they need to live their best lives. Whether obtaining a job or living independently is the goal, we tailor the program to meet it.
In addition to our Transitional Skills Center, we also provide independent living skills training through our Pre-employment Transition Services (PETS) Program. MyCIL’s Independent Living Specialists visit area schools on a regular basis to provide training for kids with disabilities.

If you are eligible to become a MyCIL Client, we’ll get the process started. If you’re not, we’ll connect you to services that can help you live more independently.
How can I get in-home care to stay in my own home?
At MyCIL, we believe everyone has the right to live independently. Sometimes that means getting certain supports and services in place, such as in-home care. That’s where MyCIL comes in.
As a MyCIL client, we’ll help you find the right in-home care for your unique situation. We’ll put you in touch with the services, resources and supports you need to live your fullest, independent life.

How can I get disability awareness training for my team?
MyCIL offers a variety of awareness and advocacy training programs, tailored for each unique audience. From medical school students and EMTs to employers, we help bring about awareness to improve understanding.

What is MyCIL?
MyCIL is a non-profit Center for Independent Living. We believe people, regardless of ability, should have freedom of choice. Everyone should be able to make their own decisions about personal care, living arrangements, participation in society and other living preferences.
MyCIL’s team includes over 51% of people with disabilities. We know firsthand what it’s like.
Our mission is to help people with disabilities live productive, independent lives. We provide independent living services to help achieve that goal.
What does MyCIL do?
MyCIL provides independent living services. Our five core independent living services are:
Through ACES$, we offer financial management services, a Participant-directed payroll management solution.
From transportation arrangements to securing assistive technology for clients who need it, we help people with disabilities live their best, independent lives
Who does MyCIL serve?
MyCIL provides 10 northeastern Pennsylvania counties with independent living services. We serve people with disabilities living in the following 10 PA counties:
- Bradford
- Columbia
- Lackawanna
- Luzerne
- Pike
- Monroe
- Sullivan
- Susquehanna
- Wayne
- Wyoming
Through ACES$, we provide financial management services to people on Medicaid waivers in:

How does MyCIL advocate for people with disabilities?
MyCIL advocates for the rights of people with disabilities. We promote compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other legislation. This includes:

- Accessible transportation systems

What is NEPACIL?
NEPACIL was the old acronym for MyCIL. NEPACIL stood for Northeastern PA Center for Independent Living. In 2018, we updated NEPACIL to MyCIL to better reflect what we do and who we do it for.
The “My” in MyCIL:
- Shows we are invested in what we do — Our organization includes over 51% of people with disabilities, and some of our team members use our services.
- Empowers you — It illustrates how you come first, and how we work for you. We are your Center for Independent Living.
