The Transitional Skills Center empowers participants with different disabilities — ages 14-22 — to reach their goals, whether that’s:
- Competitive, Integrated Employment
- Post-secondary Education
- Independent Living
Who Is MyCIL’s TSC?
As the only facility of its kind in the area — serving over 20 districts from 4 counties in the NEPA region — we offer young adults with disabilities the training and support they need to achieve their individual independent living goals at work and home. Moreover, they have the unique opportunity to form lasting friendships with peers from across the region.

Simulated Life Settings
In our simulated life settings, our participants develop practical skills. They progress through a series of activities designed for their abilities and goals.
Flexibility and Customization
The key is building on the skills they develop. Our half-day program offers flexibility and ongoing growth, customized for each participant.
Success!
At the end of the program, participants have a stronger foundation for their vocational goals, soft skills, and self-advocacy for the removal of barriers.
Participants benefit from a clearer path beyond transition for their personal and professional aspirations to live as independently as possible.
Obtain Hands-on, Real-World Employment Training
MyCIL’s TSC offers real-world pre-employment skills training through our initiatives: TSC Is Spreading Petals for Goodness Sake and TSC Is a Latte Fun.
TSC Is Spreading Petals
The mission of TSC Is Spreading Petals is simple: spread joy, beauty, and hope while providing job training to MyCIL’s Transitional Skills Center participants. They organize the donated flowers, rearranging them anew, and then deliver them to the elderly, critically ill and others in our community who might need it.
TSC Is a Latte Fun
With TSC Is a Latte Fun, our mobile coffee cart, TSC participants make and package the baked goodies, prepare the coffee and then serve the refreshments. They do it all ... from shopping for the ingredients to labeling and packaging, and everything in between. All are work skills that can set them on the path to meaningful employment.
