Equal Opportunities for All People
MyCIL’s Policy of Inclusion and Commitment to Diversity
At MyCIL (Northeast PA Center for Independent Living), we strongly believe in providing equal opportunities for all people.
Regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, ancestry, age, genetic information, marital status — or any other status the law protects — we give qualified people opportunities to join our team and advance their careers. We’re an equal opportunity employer.
By bringing together talented people from different backgrounds with unique perspectives, we can better support our Clients and ignite positive, lasting change in our communities. It’s thanks to our diversity of insights, observations, and perspectives that our team is uniquely positioned to help people with disabilities live their best, independent lives.
Diversity and Inclusion:
It’s Our Past, Present and Future
Since we opened our doors in 1988, diversity and inclusion have been at our core. Our long-standing commitment to helping people with disabilities brings our value of diversity into focus.
As a Center for Independent Living, over 51% of our team has a disability. Our CEO, Tim Moran, has a disability. And our board is made up entirely of people with disabilities. We reflect the communities we serve.

The Best Way to Support Our Clients Is by Supporting Our Team Members
At MyCIL, we place a premium on inclusion and respect.
We foster a work culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging and can be themselves. Because when people are included, respected and represented, they are empowered to make an impact. And they can thrive in all aspects of work and life.
Our inclusive and accessible work environment supports this culture.
Team members encourage others to share their opinions and perspectives.
With the goal of developing the best approach or creating an innovative way to tackle a challenge, we encourage team members to share their opinions and ideas, backed by their unique perspectives. This active solicitation of engagement is core to our inclusive environment and overall success.
We’re committed to providing our employees with disabilities a supportive work environment.
From accessible work areas to flexible scheduling, we take steps to ensure our employees have what they need to be productive and successful in their roles at MyCIL.
We make sure our team is aware of our no-tolerance policy on discrimination.
Discriminatory harassment in any shape or form has no place at MyCIL. It’s evident in our work culture, and we make sure to communicate this stance to all new hires.
We’ve created a reporting system that offers multiple ways to report any discrimination.
With this reporting system, our employees have the option to report any harassment to the MyCIL representative they are most comfortable with.
MyCIL takes these claims seriously. We investigate every claim and take action quickly. We want our employees to feel comfortable and safe at MyCIL. We take great measures to ensure they do.
MyCIL is proud to comply with all federal and state laws regarding the employment of people with disabilities.
This includes The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act (ADAAA). We strictly follow guidance the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) issues.
