What Our Students Say About MyCIL’s TSC
Transitional Skills Center Testimonials From Students
MyCIL’s TSC is a welcoming, supportive place where young adults can develop and practice work and home independent living skills while making friends with peers from across our region. But don’t take our word for it. Check out what our students say about us!

TSC Student
“I came to MyCIL’s TSC to be independent and meet new people of all sorts. I learned how to write a resume. I learned how to do laundry. And I learned how to count money. Which I wasn’t very good at until I came here. It’s just really cool to get these experiences, hands-on … They’re very kind. And they’re very inclusive. And I just love it here. I think this is truly going to be able to help me go to college and find a job. It has helped me a lot.”

“MyCIL’s TSC provides learning on skills that kids with disabilities are struggling to learn on their own. Kids with developmental disabilities should come here because it teaches them how to cook. How to do laundry. And how to make the bed. It’s also a great experience to get to know other kids with disabilities. You get to socialize with them. Go out into the community and talk to people. This place is so cool because it can get kids who are not sociable or are not able to develop skills or have developmental issues, they can come here and have the facilitators to touch up on these skills. I was shocked because I was accepted more … I had more friends in a day here than what I did at school combined in all my years I went to school.”

“At MyCIL’s TSC we get to do a daily activity, which builds character, compassion … all of that. We get to cook food every week. We have a wellness class with EJ the DJ. Some of the coolest stuff I’ve learned here is how to maintain my house. Before I came here, I struggled with basic things like doing the laundry, cooking meals … by me coming here I was able to gain those skills and from there, pretty much build on them to the point where now I do these things daily. I would say if you’re struggling with accomplishing basic goals in life or you are having some loneliness in your life, this is the place to come. You’re going to find everything you need to become successful in life.”

“I’ve learned how to cook, fold laundry … which I wasn’t very good at until I came here. I learned how to fold a shirt properly. MyCIL’s TSC helps me be more independent, so I could live on my own after graduation … They’re really nice and friendly. I’d say to just do it. Because you’ll be able to be more independent after.”

“I just wanted to express something in regards to MyCIL. This past school year has been nothing short of amazing for our students. Your staff has been absolutely incredible with our kids and we appreciate it so much. Every day, the students in my class look forward to seeing Bryce and working with him. He goes above and beyond for these kids and it is truly amazing to see! Zac and Martina come into school every afternoon and cannot stop talking about Mr. EJ and the skills they are working on while at MyCIL. Our students are constantly asking about Miss Danii and are thrilled every time we see her. Your staff does wonders for these kids and they are learning/have learned so much this past school year.
