On Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 the Ladies Auxiliary of Scranton Chapter of UNICO presented the Transitional Skills Center with a generous donation of $2,400. The money was raised at their annual Bocce Night, held on June 1, 2018 at the Victor Alfieri Club.
The Victor Alfieri Club donated dinner that night, so all proceeds raised could go directly to the Transitional Skills Center.
The money the Ladies Auxiliary of Scranton Chapter of UNICO raised will be used to support the programming of the Transitional Skills Center.
UNICO, the largest Italian American Service Organization in the United States, promotes and enhances the culture and image of Italian Americans through service to the community.

Transitional Skills Center students in our culinary program worked with Lackawanna College Culinary chefs learning to cook and prepare various meals. This after-school program, which provided a total of 120 hours of training, ran four times a week. Graduates earned a college credit upon completion.
All of the eight students who participated enjoyed the program. We capped off their achievements with a dinner and certificate ceremony.
